About Us
Who We Are
Jahani Foundation is a non-profit, cultural, literary, and educational organization. Named after the legendary Afghan poet, historian, and journalist Abdul Bari Jahani, the Jahani Foundation seeks to promote Afghan arts, culture, and core values of the Afghans in the diaspora, especially in the United States of America.
Headquartered in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Jahani Foundation publishes books and research papers, organizes cultural events and festivals, celebrates various cultural and social occasions, and hosts literary symposiums and talks.
The guiding principles of the Jahani Foundation are cultural preservation, promotion of arts, peaceful co-existence, prosperity of our community, and presenting a true picture of Afghanistan to the rest of the world.
Our Mission
The Jahani Foundation strives to connect the Afghan community via meaningful engagement in cultural, artistic, and social programs. We do so by identifying the core needs of the community and planning our research, programs, and events accordingly. The foundation has attracted experienced practitioners, artists, professionals, influential community leaders, and other intellectuals.
Our Vision
We work towards a well-connected, engaged, and prosperous Afghan community that can contribute more to the well-being of the society. We preserve the culture and arts of Afghanistan while the extremist Taliban regime has affected the liberal cultural values and arts in the homeland. We focus on the next generation of Afghans abroad to stay connected to their roots and keep their identity. We work for the support and happiness of the people.
